A brief phone call where we gather some basic information, send you our onboarding paperwork, create you an account on our pet sitting software, and schedule a meet & greet.
This is an introductory meeting where we get to meet each other as well as your pets, go through some questions, tour the home, and confirm your booking by securing a deposit. For new clients, this fee will be credited back to you on your first invoice when you confirm your booking.

Are you at work all day and your pup needs let out to go potty? Don't need a dog walk or the extra services included in a drop-in visit? Then a Dog Potty Break might be for you! These are 15 minute time slots where we come to your home, and take your dog(s) outside for a potty break and give them fresh water! 🚽💩 *These are not meant to be a substitute for drop-in visits, but can be booked in between drop-in visits.
Visits to your home to take your dog potty, feed & give them fresh water, any medications, and just simply love on them. Any remaining time is used for playtime. An excellent, less stressful alternative to the traditional kennel. 🐕 🐾 All drop-in visits also can include bringing in mail, rotating lights/curtains, watering plants, & setting out trash for collection, for those going away. More than 3 total pets or certain meds may require at least one 60 minute visit for each full day.
Let us check in on, feed, give water, meds/supplements, scoop and clean up the litter box for your kitties while you're away! We can't wait to love on and have playtime with your kitties! 🐈 😻 Cat drop-in visits can also include the same additional services as mentioned above. Three or more cats/litter boxes or cats that require certain medications may require at least one, 60 minute drop-in visit, per day.

Does your furry friend need taken to the vet, but you can't get out of work? Or maybe your pet just needs dropped off at a family member's house and you are tied up? Let us take them for you! 🐕 🚕 Each pet taxi service initial cost includes 1 pet, pick-up, transportation to 1 location, up to a 30 minute wait, and return trip within a 12 mile radius of our address, a climate controlled private ride, as well as a potty break. Forget adjusting your schedule and let us be like Uber for your pets!
Twelve mile radius, round-trip. Additional fees for outside our normal radius and per any additional stops.

An additional 5 minutes that can be added on to any service. This can be helpful if your pet requires more than our standard length of visits or walks.
We will pick up or drop off your house key or lockbox before and at the end of your booking.
Need your cats litter boxes cleaned more thoroughly? With this service, we will empty your litter boxes completely, scrub, sanitize, and disinfect them, as well as the floor of the litter box area. We then will put the litter boxes back with fresh cat litter. Customer must supply all cleaning supplies, new cat litter, and have a working utility sink/tub or outdoor hose. $10 per each additional litter box. Length of time will vary.
Need pet food, medications, treats, toys, etc. delivered to your home? Book this service! $10 + *the cost of supplies (*unless pre-paid/pre-ordered). Service area for this service is only in the Johnstown area. Outside of Johnstown will have additional mileage fees assessed.

Digital gift cards are the perfect gift for the pet parent in your life! These can be given to existing or new clients and don't have an expiration date. They can be used for any of our services. Give the gift that will go to great use! Gift cards are non-refundable. New clients receiving a gift card must still do a phone consultation and meet & greet.
For a one time fee, you get usage of one of our key lockboxes for the length of your booking, or perpetually for weekly recurring clients. These are an excellent, safe, and secure way to store your house key for those who wish their key to remain at their location!

Our Terms of Service can be found on our service contracts. For a new client's initial booking, a paper service contract will be filled out and then provided to the client for review at the meet & greet. Our Terms of Service can be provided beforehand upon request. Signing the service contract serves as your consent to our Terms of Service. After the initial booking, service contracts will be digital (on our app) only.
In order to book with us, client must accept our digital Customer Agreement as well. It can be accessed on our Pet Owner Dashboard app and website once we create an account for you. We can also supply it in print upon request. Clicking "Accept" serves as your electronic signature to the Agreement. Requesting and/or confirming a booking with us verbally, digitally, or in writing also affirms that you have consented to our Customer Agreement.
We accept all major debit/credit cards, Venmo, cash, & checks. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure desired services, dates, & times. Remaining balance becomes due before completion of your booking. Invoices with no deposit before service begins or a remaining balance upon completion will have a 10% late fee assessed for each. Desired services, dates, & times are not reserved without a deposit & are subject to being declined. Deposits are non-refundable.
There is a $30 fee for returned checks.
Late fees are 10%. Late fee is applied when no deposit is received before service begins and again if remaining amount is not paid before service is completed. Repeated delinquency may result in refusal or discontinuation of services.
For drop-in visits, cancellation policy is 7 days, meaning a full refund of any amount paid beyond the 50% deposit, is available if you cancel your booking before 12pm one week before service takes place. After 12pm, 7 days before, and up to 24 hours before service begins, would be a partial refund of that . Less than 24 hours before, no refund will be issued. Deposits are non-refundable.
Dog Potty Breaks, Dog Walks, and Add-On Services are one day cancellation, meaning if you cancel 24 or more hours before the service begins, you receive a full refund on any amount beyond the 50% deposit that was paid. Less than 24 hours before service begins, no refund would be issued. Deposits are non-refundable.
For pet taxi service, it is a 7 day cancellation, meaning if you cancel before 12 pm, 7 days before service takes place, you would receive a full refund on any amount paid beyond the 50% deposit. After 12pm, 7 days before up to 24 hours before, would be a partial refund. Less than 24 hours, no refund would be issued. Deposits are non-refundable.
All package deals (i.e. Dog Sitting Package), combined services (i.e. drop-in visits with potty breaks), any service that is recurring for 3 or more consecutive days, are a 7 day cancellation policy, meaning if you cancel before 12pm seven days before service begins, a full refund of any amount paid beyond the 50% deposit will be issued. After 12pm, seven days before, up to 24 hours before would be a partial refund. Less than 24 hours before service begins, no refund would be issued.
If your cancelled service is beyond the point of a refund, don't fret, as we allow you the option to put a customer credit on your account in the amount of the originally refundable portion (i.e. what was paid beyond the 50% deposit) of the cancelled services which you can use for future bookings any time within one year!
We reserve the right to cancel your booking with no refund if we determine that your pet(s) are aggressive, or have aggression issues that were not disclosed to us. We also reserve the right to cancel your booking with no refund if we determine there is some sort of threat or risk to our safety regarding your booking.
Payment is due immediately at the time of booking. There may be additional fees, or longer length of visits required for certain numbers of pets. For Drop-In Visits, if you have more than 3 total pets, a 1 hour visit may be required, at least once per each full day, depending on the type of pets. Homes located more than 12 miles away from our location will have mileage fees assessed. A 10% late fee will be assessed for invoices that haven't received a 50% deposit before service starts, or have not had the remaining balance paid before completion of the booking, and services may not resume or will be discontinued until your balance is made current. All service time lengths are approximate. Convenience fees will be assessed for last minute bookings, cleaning supplies, and other convenience services.
Inclement Weather Policy – Winter

In the event of inclement weather, Tom & Desiree's Pet Sitting is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of both our pet sitters and the pets entrusted to our care. This policy outlines our procedures and expectations during winter weather conditions.
Service Availability:
1. Snowstorms/Ice Storms: In severe snow or ice storms, we may need to modify our service offerings. Regular visits may be adjusted based on the safety of our pet sitters and the conditions of the roads. The length of visits may also be adjusted according to weather patterns and forecasts. We will monitor weather forecasts closely.
2. Extreme Cold Temperatures: During periods of extreme cold, we will prioritize the safety of our pet sitters as well as the pets we care for, and may reduce the length of outdoor visits while ensuring the pets' essential needs are met.
Communication:
1. Updates: Clients will be promptly notified of any service modifications or cancellations due to inclement weather via text or phone call.
2. Client Communication: We encourage clients to inform us of any specific concerns or conditions related to their pets during inclement weather.
Emergency Plans:
1. Emergency Contacts: Ensure that your contact and your emergency contact information are up-to-date in case we need to reach you or make a decision regarding your pet or home quickly.
2. Alternative Care: In extreme cases where travel is unsafe, we will work with clients to establish alternative care arrangements for their pets. This may involve extended visits or rescheduling missed visits when conditions improve.
3. Backup Plan: Ensure you have a backup plan in place when inclement weather is forecasted, in the event that we cannot safely make it to your pets in a timely manner or would need to cancel in emergency conditions. This can include but is not limited to having pee pads placed inside your home, extra amounts of food & water set out for your pets, an arrangement for a neighbor to help, etc. In the event of a weather-related emergency, we will follow the emergency plan provided by you.
4. Cancellation Policy: If you decide to cancel services due to weather conditions, please notify us as soon as possible. We understand that weather can be unpredictable, and cancellation fees may be waived in extreme circumstances. If we are forced to cancel due to an emergency weather situation, fees for that particular visit(s) will be waived, refunded, or issued as a customer credit for future use.
Preparation:
1. Access: Ensure that our pet sitters have reliable access to your property, especially during weather events. Clear paths of snow and ice when possible. Use pet-safe ice melt when possible. If a snow removal service handles this, schedule them before the time of our visits. Be sure to have an alternative entry method (i.e. a garage code) and be sure that it works, in case we must use a different option.
2. Pet Comfort: Provide extra blankets or bedding for your pets during cold weather.
3. Winter Supplies: Ensure there is an ample supply of pet food, medications, and any other necessary items in case weather affects deliveries.
Pet Sitter Safety: Our team will use their discretion to assess the safety of travel. If conditions are deemed unsafe, services may be temporarily suspended.
Client Flexibility:
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during winter weather conditions. The safety of our team and the pets we care for is our top priority.
